Thirty-nine years ago, God placed a vision in the heart of a young pastor—a gifted preacher, teacher, and devoted shepherd whose understanding of God’s Word would shape generations.

It was a vision bigger than a building. Bigger than a congregation.

It was a vision for people.

In 1994, Pastor Ralph Douglas West stood before the congregation and asked a simple question:

“What do you see?”

Where others saw trees, grass, and acres of land, Pastor West saw possibilities. He saw children and young people being developed, families being strengthened, lives being transformed, and future preachers, missionaries, teachers, church leaders, and community leaders being raised up.

He saw a church that would make a difference.

For 39 years, Pastor West has led The Church Without Walls toward that vision—preaching the Word, teaching sound theology, shepherding God’s people, and challenging the church to live out its faith beyond Sunday morning.

Today, what began with faith has become a multi-campus church reaching thousands of people. But the measure of the vision has never been the size of our buildings.

It has always been the lives touched inside—and outside—those walls.

That vision is reflected through ministries that meet people where they hurt, serve families and the community, and point people to Jesus—from Pastoral Care, Benevolence, Bereavement, and Prayer Ministry to the Food Pantry, Church Under the Bridge, and GriefShare.

These ministries reflect a conviction Pastor West declared decades ago:

“Find a hurt and heal it. Find a need and fill it. Find somebody who is lost and show them the way. Find a sinner and point them to Jesus.”

Join us as we honor and celebrate the 39th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor Ralph Douglas West through two special worship celebrations.

Our celebration begins Tuesday evening with Rev. Byron C. Stevenson, Pastor of Fort Bend Church in Sugar Land, Texas, as our special guest preacher.

Sunday, October 11 | Anniversary Sunday

Together, we will celebrate more than another year of ministry. We will celebrate 39 years of preaching, teaching, shepherding, serving, developing people, and changing lives.

We honor Dr. Ralph Douglas West, Sr.—a preacher, pastor, teacher, shepherd, and visionary leader whose commitment to God and His people continues to shape generations.

The campuses have grown. The ministries have expanded. But the vision remains:

To reach people.
To develop people.
To serve people.
To point people to Jesus.
