Strength for the Bone-Deep Weary

Day 11 - Strength for the Bone-Deep Weary
"He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength." — Isaiah 40:29-31
Reflection
There's a weariness that goes beyond physical tiredness. It's bone-deep, soul-weary exhaustion. The kind where you wake up already tired, where the thought of facing another day feels like climbing a mountain you don't have the strength to climb.
The demands keep coming. Work, family, responsibilities, expectations—they pile up like weights on your shoulders. And somewhere along the way, you realize: I don't have what it takes. I'm running on empty. My own strength has run out.
This is exactly when we discover what the name "Mighty God" really means. Not when we're strong and capable and handling everything well. But when we're weak and exhausted and can't take one more step.
The Mighty God gives strength to the weary. He increases the power of the weak. When you have nothing left, He has everything you need. When your reserves are empty, His are full. When you cannot go on, He carries you.
Where are you trying to be strong in your own power? What burden are you carrying that you were never meant to carry alone? The Mighty God doesn't expect you to muster up strength you don't have. He offers to be your strength.
Application
Make a list of everything you're carrying right now—all the responsibilities, worries, burdens, expectations. Circle the ones that are yours to carry. Draw a line through the ones you've been carrying that aren't yours. Then surrender both lists to the Mighty God, asking Him to be your strength for what's truly yours and to take what isn't.
Prayer
Mighty God, I am bone-deep weary. I don't have the strength to face what's before me. Thank You that You don't expect me to be strong in my own power. Thank You that You give strength to the weary and power to the weak. Carry what I cannot carry. Strengthen me where I am weak. Renew my strength as I wait on You. Amen.
