Forgiveness (Others and self)
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14 (NIV)
Heavenly Father,
You are a God of forgiveness. You know my flaws and shortcomings and graciously extended love and forgiveness to me. May your healing balm wash me and grant me the freedom that forgiveness will bring. Please remove any anger, hate, resentment, or bitterness and replace them with your love. I give to you my offenders. By faith, I forgive the person who hurt me. Help me to understand that when I forgive I am not denying my right to be angry. I acknowledge by faith that I can look beyond surface behavior and see your grace. Thank you for the blessings that forgiveness brings to my life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Scripture: Psalm 32:1; Ephesians 1:6-7; Colossians 3:13; James 5:15
Dear Lord,
How difficult it is for me to forgive. Yet your word is true, if I desire forgiveness I must first forgive. Help me God to be kind, tender hearted and forgiving; even when I have difficulty forgiving myself and others. Let your great love for me abound during these times so that I am moved with compassion. Allow me to walk in the ministry of reconciliation and be willing to forgive from my heart. Amen
