Pentecost Sunday

Sunday, May 24, 2026

"Come Meet The Holy Spirit"

Attire: White

Our Road to Resurrection was the foundation; the empty tomb was just the beginning. We have walked the path of the Risen Christ, and now we stand on the threshold of Power. We are moving from the quiet joy of the Resurrection into the Mighty Rushing Wind of Pentecost. This is the hour to transition from spectators to Multipliers

What is Pentecost Sunday?

Acts 2:1-13

Pentecost is rooted in the Old Testament as a Jewish feast, which was called the Feast or Harvest, or the Feast of Weeks (Ex. 23:16, Ex. 34:22-28, Lev. 23:15-22, Dt. 16:9-12)

The Feast occured 50 days after the Passover. Pentecost is the Greek name for the feast, the 50th day.

For the world, Pentecost means the universal spreading of the Gospel. The global perspective is to widen the mission worldwide and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To the church, Pentecost means its birthday. Pentecosts, to the church, also means that you have been enabled or empowered to live the mission as a witness to the Resurrected Lord.

Why Does It Matter?

It matters because you have been remarkably and uniquely enabled by the person and power of the Holy Spirit to be the church, outside the walls of the church, to bear witness to the world about the Resurrected Lord.

Who is The Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. We pray to God the Father, through the Son, by means of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our counselor. Our counselor, our helper, our comforter. The Spirit gives us power. The Holy Spirit convicts and reproves sin, righteous, and judgment (John 16:8-11).

The Dynamics of a Spirit Filled Life

Acts 2:42-47

A Sprit-filled life is a dynamic cycle of Devotion, Community, and Expansion. See below what it means to be ALIVE in the Holy Spirit and the keys for a spirit-filled life.

A - Authentic Doctrine. Being anchored to the Word. Devoted to daily devotion
L - Loving Fellowship. Sharing life across all campuses. As Jesus did with the disciples, we should break bread, share lives, and build authentic relationships. We are called to create community, NOT division
I - Intentional Generosity. Living with open hands. Open hands to give and to serve. To do good work and good deeds in the Kingdom.
V - Vibrant Worship. Worship happens in large gatherings and our personal lives. Worship should NOT be confined. It should feel ALIVE.
E - Evangelistic Expectations. Trusting God for the increase. God's power has no bounds, no limits. Our prayers and expectations should reflect the same. Create room for God to MOVE.
