A Little R&R For the Believer

A Little R&R For the Believer
July 6-12
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. Psalm 23:2
Devotional: The body is designed to take rest stops, as we often see Rest Areas on interstates and highways. In other words, if we don’t rest, we will become a wreck. One of God’s profound demonstrations of this is seen in Scripture, as we, like sheep, can be stubborn and need the guidance of the Shepherd to help us obtain the proper rest for His glory. My friends, it is a necessity to get our rest so we can be alert for the dangerous curves and hills of this road that we travel, called life!
Prayer: Lord, I thank you that you are my Shepherd, and I don’t want or need anything else; for you are my God! We thank you for being our guide as we travel life’s narrow way. Now, Loving Father, continue to lead us, feed us, and keep us as we do your will; remind us that we are not alone but you are with us, in the strong name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen and Amen!
Reflection Question: Are you getting the proper rest, or are you being forced to rest on your own?
