A Sure Thing In Jesus!

“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:3-4

Devotional: Recently, I was engaged in an interesting conversation with someone regarding the family and, in particular, our childhood and how it shaped who we are now some fifty years later as senior adults. During our dialogue, we came to the conclusion that we didn’t know how blessed we were to grow up in the era in which we lived, regardless of the lack of resources and technology. While we knew that we had the protection of our parents to care for us and our needs, we also felt their covering to shield us and to keep us from all hurt, harm, and danger. Now, our parents are no longer with us, and we have children and grandchildren of our own, but we still have that protection, that provision, that promise in Jesus Christ, our Savior, who is always with us, friends; He is the Sure Thing!

Prayer: Almighty Father, Most High God, on many occasions, we face so much uncertainty and often feel alone. Lord,  rather than allowing us to be gripped with despair and disappointment, create in us confidence and courage to know that we have security in You!  Remind us that we can make it because You are the best thing that has ever happened to us; thank You afresh for Your refuge and strength; in His name, Christ Jesus, we pray and give You thanks. Amen!
