Finding Comfort In His Presence

Finding Comfort In His Presence

August 10-16

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Devotional: Have you ever met someone who is always giving, always volunteering, and always helping everywhere there is a need? Many of us operates better when we are very busy and in fact, the busier we are, the better we feel about ourselves. Why? Well, maybe, it’s because it makes us feel important or maybe it has to do with the realization of being alone or loneliness which we all struggle with at one time or another. As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word clearly reminds you and I that we are not alone and we can find rest and peace in knowing that our God has our backs; thus there is no need to be afraid!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I can find real comfort and compassion in you and in you alone!  I love you and, in those moments, when I feel all alone, remind me that your Word is so true and you are with us each second of every minute, of every hour of every day! Oh God, we thank you for your peace that keeps us and sustains us in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Reflection Question: How do you comfort your spirit in those moments of loneliness?
