He Has Your Back

September 1-7

“The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9

Devotional: One of the greatest gifts that God has given to us is the power to remember years and decades of our lives. It can be a blessing, but I also know that painful memories can be a curse as many of those difficult events have kept us paralyzed for some time. As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we don’t have to carry the weight of these traumatic episodes because our God is our helper and keeper; He will never leave you or forsake you!

Prayer: Lord, the good news is that You are always here with us even when life seems so dark and dingy; we still thank You for Your ever-present love for us! Now Father, remind us that you are holding us right now and give us your peace and assurance, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen!

Reflection Question: When you don’t feel the presence of God, where or who do you turn to?
