He's Stronger Than My Pride

He’s Stronger Than My Pride
July 27-August 2
“While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.” Matthew 9:18
Devotional: There’s an old saying that goes this way: “There is more in the man than in the land.” It’s a reminder to you and me that God is more invested in you as His prized creation than He is in the space that you and I occupy. As Christians, we must never forget that God has deposited a part of Himself in us, reserved for us to commune with Him, especially in those moments when we need Him the most. Beloved, regardless of your position or prestige, we must let go of our pride and recognize that our God is far stronger, greater, wiser, and He is able to do what we cannot do or even imagine!
Prayer: Father in Heaven, thank you that you sit high and look low, keeping your eyes on us, as your creative beings. We thank you that your ever-present help is available to us, even when we feel that we can handle life’s problems on our own. Remind us, God, that we cannot do anything apart from you and renew in us a faith that trusts you at all times, as we bring our petitions to you. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen!
Reflection Question: What are some things that you feel you can handle without the help of the Lord?
