Hope in the Midst of My Focus
Hope In The Midst of My Focus
December 1-7
“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” Daniel 6:10
Devotional: Birds come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, but the one thing they all have in common is the ability to fly and soar. One bird, particularly the pigeon, has a unique way of walking because the bird must come to a complete stop between steps to focus their eyes to ensure that the creature is moving toward the target destination. As we begin this advent season of Hope in observance of Christ Jesus coming into this world, the pigeon reminds us to take the time between the steps of our lives and refocus on what God has provided in giving us the eternal Hope that we have in His Son!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we come to you in adoration and appreciation during this season of advent to bring Hope into this world and encourage our hearts and minds! Lord, thank you for all that you have done and now fill us afresh with your assurance that we can make it because our situations and circumstances are not hopeless, for we know that Jesus Christ paid it all on a hill called Calvary and He is our help in times of trouble. We love you in His name, we pray, Amen, and Amen!!!
Reflection Question: What are you hoping for regarding your relationship with the Lord?
