Is It Well With Your Soul?

August 24-30

"On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, 'Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-38

Devotional: As a child, one of my favorite toys that I enjoyed doing or playing with was the yo-yo, a string wrapped around an axle connected to two circular disks intended to be thrown down by hand.  The excitement of playing is when the yo-yo returns to the hand, and the activity is repeated several times for enjoyment. We know that our very lives can be like a yo-yo because we have our ups and downs. However, just like the yo-yo, the axle that keeps the disks connected, our inner soul must keep us connected with our God, and that connection allows you and me to maintain our joy, our peace, that flows within our very souls each and every day!

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we acknowledge you as our Sovereign Lord, we worship and we praise your Holy name! Now God, help us to be good stewards of our souls; enable us to feast on your Word and encourage us to drink from your fountain of grace, mercy, and love, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen and Amen!

Reflection Question: Does your Soul have a Healthy diet?
