Lord Let Me Be a River

Lord Let Me Be a River

October 26 - November 1

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”  (Proverbs 19:17)

Devotional: There is a catch phrase that goes like this; “how soon we forget.”  It is especially true in times of success and prosperity for us and our families.  Sometimes I must admit that a few of us believe that our accomplishments are a result of our hard work, our strength and our energy.  Certainly, we do play a role in what is happening but also, we know that God has sent people our way to help us along the narrow ways that we call life. Beloved, it’s vital that we don’t forget those who have paved the way for the dreams that we are experiencing right now because many gave out of their poverty to make this life a better place for us.  Remember whatever you do for Christ, and the Kingdom of Good will last!

Prayer: Gracious God, I recognize that I have, at times, taken your grace and mercy for granted; forgive me and remind me of the many people who have blessed my life. Father, let me be a river in blessing someone’s life who’s in need of a helping hand tangibly but also let my good deeds lift them in your direction because you are the source of our lives, in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen and Amen!

Reflection Question: What’s your motivation in doing good to those in need?
