My Thankfulness Can Lead to Peacefulness

My Thankfulness Can Lead to Peacefulness

November 19-25

Scripture: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus..” –Philippians 4:6-7

Devotional: I grew up in an era where one of the foundational truths that was drilled in my conscience was to always be thankful! Regardless of how big or how small the generosity from someone toward me, I can still hear my father and mother’s voice saying, “Junior be thankful and grateful.” As we observe Thanksgiving day this week, it might not be a bad idea to remind those that we love and those around us how thankful and grateful we are for each and every one of them. More importantly, however, spend some time this week communing with God in giving Him thanks, and rest assured that He will give you His peace and His presence to truly enjoy what it truly means to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Prayer: Most Holy and Righteous God, Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our hearts cry out Hallelujah; for we give you glory, and we give you praise! As we prepare this week and celebrate another national Thanksgiving day, remind us of the magnitude of being thankful and grateful for what You have done for us and knowing that we have access to Your peace that can protect our hearts and our minds. We thank you for your great love and sacrifice for us in sending your one and only Son to give His life for us; we magnify and lift your name on high, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord we pray, Amen and Amen!!!

Reflection Question: What are you most thankful for this year?

Thank you Father God for your Peace! It is so needed in this world right now….

This year, I am most thankful for God’s favor. My God has richly blessed me and my family beyond the tangible and perishable things of this world; good health, peace, joy, and love. Praise the holy name of God and Jesus Christ His son!
