One Goal In Christ
One Goal In Christ
October 6-12
“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1:10
Devotional: One word you as a parent do not have to teach your child is “my or mine.” For some reason, for a baby or a child, regardless of ethnicity, background, or culture, it is universal that this toy, this book, this space is my toy, my book, my space. We enter this world with the notion that everything is mine; thus, as parents or parental authorities, we must teach our children the importance of sharing and being unselfish. It is imperative that we show them the importance of helping those who may be less fortunate than they are and being productive in fostering unity instead of division and hatred. As children of the Most High God, we are called to model unification in Jesus Christ, our Lord, as we seek to make this world a better place by keeping Him as our lives' aim and goal!
Prayer: Merciful Father, despite the challenges we face, You allow the Spirit of unity to live inside of us through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Oh God, allow us to exercise what You have placed in us to bring wholeness and unity as Your presence fills our desire to love one another as You have loved us. We thank you for what you will do, and now, Lord, give us a heart for the unsaved and unchurched in our community and our world in the mighty name of the risen King, Christ Jesus; we pray and give thanks. Amen!
Reflection Question: How often do you focus on “my or mine" instead of "we" or "ours"?
