Recognizing God in All Things
Recognizing God in All Things
October 13-19
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
Devotional: In college athletics, especially in football, there is nothing quite like the traditions we see on Saturday afternoons. The mascots, the school colors, the marching bands, the halftime shows, the fight songs, the cheerleaders, etc., are all part of the pageantry that makes college football great and enjoyable. We look forward to traditions because we know what to expect every game. Likewise, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have the tradition of scripture on our side in knowing that our God is with us, regardless of that which confronts us, which, ultimately, makes us victorious in this life and forevermore!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Word that feeds us and teaches us that You are a God who smiles upon us even in those moments when it seems no one cares, for You are full of grace and mercy, and we thank You for Your abiding presence! Now, Lord, continue to encourage us with spiritual knowledge, strength, and compassion as we encounter those that you will send in our path and grant us your peace, in the name above every name, Jesus Christ; we pray, Amen!
Reflection Question: As a Christian, what traditions are vital to your growth as a disciple of Jesus Christ?
