“You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.” Genesis 6:19
Devotional: In light of so much division and turmoil that we see day in and day out, one of the events where you find togetherness and unity is in the area of sports. People from all ethnicities and cultures come together for a common cause of trying to execute a play to win a game. We can trace the art of teamwork back to Genesis chapter 6 where the scriptures reflected animals coming together two by two into Noah's Ark to preserve life. This served as a testament to God's providence and care in everything being in harmony. My friends, in the times in which we are living, that would be a blessing if all of us resemble the attitudes of working together as we recognize the coming presence of our God!
Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we thank you for your mercy and your guidance in our very being! We praise you for showing us the example of what unity and being on one accord can be, as modeled by the animals going two by two into the Ark. Now Lord, help us to move in that direction as your humanity; we live in a time where harmony is seen among a select few but You gave your one and only son, not for a select few, but for all who call on His name as Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; so remind us that we are brothers an sisters in Him, we pray, Amen and Amen!
