Who We Are

Main Street Ministries Houston is a Christ-centered urban outreach ministry with more than 30 years of experience supporting men and women in their transition from homelessness, joblessness and incarceration towards healthy, independent living. We exist to grow in and share the hope of the gospel by creating opportunities that contribute to a Houston where all can thrive physically, economically, socially and spiritually. Each year we serve thousands of Houstonians by providing identification assistance, housing and employment support, spiritual guidance, and personal growth opportunities.

What We Do

Main Street Ministries Houston offers hope and opportunities to individuals and families who find themselves in a crisis situation, have no other place to turn, and desire to make a change in their life. Our goal is to provide encouragement, support, and solutions that empower individuals and families to grow to their God given potential and live stable and healthy lives. Our programs provide short-term, basic needs support including assistance in obtaining identification documents, referrals to other community resources, housing and employment support, and opportunities to grow personally and spiritually through new friendships and Bible based classes.

Available Serving Opportunities

Operation ID Admin Volunteers

Operation ID, a program through Main Street Ministries Houston, is in need of volunteers to assist clients in obtaining Texas ID’s, drivers licenses, and birth certificates. We currently have a GREAT need to help with administrative duties. ALL training happily provided and you will work with a great group of volunteers! Op-ID is Monday through Thursday mornings, volunteers can commit to what day(s) work best for their schedule, so it’s ideal for parents whose children are in school, college students, and retired individuals. Come help us provide ID assistance to those in the community working hard to change their lives for the better!
