Adventure Week

Opportunity Details

Adventure Week

Adventure Week is a church and community outreach intensive for one week during the summer that introduces and expounds the teachings and love of Jesus Christ to both the believer and the unchurched. It is free and open to everyone and all ages.

Looking for a ministry commitment that doesn't require a weekly or even monthly schedule? Consider Adventure Week, where we pack an entire year's worth of excitement into just one week. This isn't the Vacation Bible School of yesteryear; it's a modern whirlwind of Bible study, crafts, games, and endless fun, designed for children, youth, and adults alike.

The reward of participating in Adventure Week? Beyond measure. You'll make a lasting impact on the lives of our young attendees, contributing to their growth in ways that may go unseen but are deeply felt. Witness the joy of seeing our children mature year by year. Our ministry is like a family, with volunteers often returning each year, drawn by the camaraderie and the unique joy that only Adventure Week can bring. It's a once-a-year commitment, but the memories and fulfillment will last a lifetime. Join us and be part of something truly special.

Adventure Week is Held Annually on Each Campus

The 2nd full week in June at the Queenston Campus at 7:00 pm

The 4th full week in June at the Eldridge and Bingle and Eldridge Campuses at 7:00 pm

Available Serving Areas

  • Administration, Leadership, and Planning Team - Help plan and execute the plan for Adventure Week. You will be working with the planning team and the workers to ensure that everything goes according to plan. You will be helping in all areas of AW from planning, leading, and training.
  • Adventure Week Children Praise Team - Our Praise Team is comprised of children grades 3 to 5, along with our Youth. They lead our Worship Service each night. They learn the AW songs with the hand motions and dances to energize the congregation in worship and praise. Practices are every Saturday in May and June at 10:00 A.M. and during bible study nights on each campus or one night via Zoom.
  • Teaching - Serve as a Teacher or Teacher's helper. As a teacher, you will bring the lesson for each night to life so that everyone will want to focus on Jesus. You will spend time helping the students learn how to apply the lesson to their everyday lives. Teacher's helpers’ role is just as the title indicates, they help the teacher as needed. The Adult and Youth teachers are co-teachers; both will prepare and teach the lesson each night.
    • Preschool: Ages 4 thru Pre-K
    • Children: Kindergarten through 5th grade
    • Youth: 6th grade thru 12th grade
    • Young Adult: Ages: 19-35
    • Adults: Age 36 and up
    • Married Couple: All Ages
  • Rotation (Music, Missions, Crafts, Games, and The Gamers Escape Room) - Share your creative talents as a teacher or helper in one of the rotation areas. Each rotation will reinforce the lesson for the day. Students will rotate between four different areas.
  • Registration - Help with registration, check-in and pre-register adults and children. Registration tables are manned each night of AW, on Sunday, and Bible Study nights in May and June.
