Trust In The Lord
June 14 - 20
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Devotional: When we trust in the Lord with all our heart, we demonstrate a deep and unwavering faith in believing that God knows what’s best for us. Leaning on our own understanding can lead to self-reliance and human reasoning. Trusting in God means we have confidence that He will guide us down the right path. We can’t rely on just anyone to give wise counsel when serious decisions need to be made. But seeking the Holy Spirit to guide us, gives assurance that God will provide all we need. Life may be filled with uncertainty, but when we lean not on our own understanding and submit to God… He will make our path straight!
Prayer: Gracious God our Father, sometimes decisions overwhelm us to the point that we don’t know what to do. Help us to trust You with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. In the name of Jesus Christ… Amen!
Reflection Question: Reflect on a time when you relied on your own understanding over submitting to God’s will in the situation. Ask God to forgive you for not trusting Him to know what’s best for your life.
